The Production Worker Jr- Large Cable is responsible for assisting in the manufacturing, assembly, and preparation of large industrial cable products. This role involves handling, preparing, and assembling large cables, ensuring that safety, quality, and productivity standards are consistently met.
Key Responsibilities
+ Assist with the setup, operation, and monitoring of large cable manufacturing (extrusion, stranding, cutting, spooling).
+ Perform basic assembly operations, including stripping, crimping, taping, and applying connectors or terminations.
+ Handle large-gauge copper wire and cable reels safely, including lifting, measuring, and preparing for production.
+ Read and follow shop orders, diagrams, and written instructions to meet production and customer specifications.
+ Inspect copper wire and finished cables for defects, such as surface flaws, incorrect gauge, or insulation issues.
+ Support machine operators in feeding raw copper wire, loading spools, and unloading finished products.
+ Report defective materials, safety hazards, or equipment malfunctions to supervisors immediately.
+ Participate in training to develop technical skills in copper cable assembly and handling.
+ Maintain clean and safe work areas, adhering to all company safety standards and PPE requirements.
+ Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
+ Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
+ Mechanically inclined with the ability to solve problems and think analytically.
+ Read and comprehend simple verbal and written instructions, and can work in a team environment.
+ Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment.
+ Understanding of and ability to comply with OSHA and environmental regulations.
Work Environment
+ Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and temperature variations.
+ Walking or standing on the Plant floor.
+ Frequently required to sit, climb, or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds without help.
+ + Education and Experience
+ High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
+ Completion of on-the-job training may be substituted for educational requirements.
+ One to three years of manufacturing-related experience.
