    AdventHealth Lake Wales is a licensed 160-bed hospital, with 24-hour emergency care and outpatient services including imaging, rehab, lab and wound care, that has been serving the community and surrounding areas.

     

    As a part of the AdventHealth network patients will have greater access to a wide range of innovative therapies, new research, leading-edge technology and an extensive team of medical specialists.

     

    Lake Wales is located in Central Florida in between Orlando and Tampa and is home to the Historic Bok Tower Gardens and Bird Sanctuary

    The role you'll contribute:

    Primary responsibility is the provision of medication distributive functions and pharmacy operational tasks, which includes but is not limited to assisting the pharmacist with all duties of preparing and dispensing of medications, inventory management, and regulatory compliance. Performs duties necessary for the effective daily operation of all department services and programs. Accurately responds to medication dispensing requests, prepares medications for pharmacist final review/check, delivers checked medications, and returns unused or expired medications to appropriate pharmacy areas. In addition to these duties, assists the pharmacist by filling physician orders for medications for oral, rectal, topical, and injectable use; mixes IV admixture solutions as required using aseptic technique in the Laminar Air Flow Hood and Barrier Isolator; types labels, prepares and files charge slips among other related duties. Under the direction of a pharmacist, performs pharmacy-related functions in compliance with hospital and department policies and procedures, working to provide optimal care. Provides distributive pharmacy services and technical support for the pharmacist, supporting pharmacists and providing safe and accurate medication services to support all those involved in direct patient care. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

    Participates in initiatives that improve medication-use processes and supports compliance with regulatory standards and institutional accreditation requirements.

     

    Works effectively with technicians, pharmacists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care and ensure continuity of pharmacy services across shifts, staffing assignments, and practice areas.

     

    Other duties as assigned.

     

    Contributes to departmental quality improvement efforts, attends educational activities, and supports training and mentorship of peers and pharmacy learners.

     

    Executes foundational pharmacy technician duties with proficiency in standard workflows, hospital systems, and pharmacy operational programs under pharmacist supervision. Demonstrates competency in foundational services such as medication dispensing, preparation, inventory management, and regulatory compliance.

    Qualifications

    High School Grad or Equiv

     

    Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPT-LIC)
