Description
We are seeking a skilled and motivated CNC Mill Machinist with 5+ years of hands-on experience to set up, operate, and inspect precision components on vertical and/or horizontal CNC milling machines. The ideal candidate is highly skilled with G-code, complex multi-axis milling setups, program editing / creating and blueprint reading.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Perform advanced setups including 4th axis, angle head work, or multipart fixture loading.
+ Program jobs offline using CAM software (e.g., Mastercam or similar).
+ Reduce cycle time through optimization of toolpaths, tool selection, and work holding design.
+ Coordinate tool crib needs and recommend tooling upgrades for efficiency.
+ Train Tier 1 and 2 machinists and review their setups for accuracy.
+ Lead root cause investigations for scrap/rework and implement corrective action.
+ Work directly with quality and engineering on first article approvals and DPD compliance.
Position Requirements
Requirements:
+ High School diploma or equivalent required
+ 5+ years of experience on CNC mills, including advanced setups and programming experience.
+ Mastery of complex GD&T and 3D modeling print interpretation.
+ Skilled in surface milling, 3D toolpaths, thread milling, and deep-hole drilling techniques.
+ Offline programming and post-editing capabilities.
+ Project management and continuous improvement mindset.
+ Team-oriented with the ability to communicate effectively with peers and leadership.
Preferred Skills
+ Experience with multi-axis milling (4th/5th axis or horizontal mills)
+ Basic G-code editing or understand of CNC programming logic
+ Exposure to ERP/job tracking systems and process documentation
