    ### Job Duties

    Family Voices of Minnesota is a statewide, non-profit, parent-run organization providing emotional support, information, and individual assistance to families raising children and youth with disabilities or special health care needs. This includes developmental, physical, medical, mental health, behavioral, or rare conditions.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Non-Profit Program Development and Management

    • Provide support, mentorship and collaboration with all Family Voices staff, creating a positive and supportive work environment

    • Oversee the process of conflict resolution within the organization as needed to build a cohesive relationship driven work environment

    • Manage the daily functions and long-term operation and success of the organization

    • Monitor grant activities, outcomes and participate in timely grant reporting

    • Ensure all grants are appropriately managed and associated reporting requirements met.

    • Maintain and build positive relationships with other nonprofit and support organizations

    • Participate in organizational meetings including weekly staff one-on-one meetings, weekly staff meetings

    • Oversee staff time sheets and invoices and assure timely monthly staff payroll

    • Oversee monthly or quarterly grant invoicing

    • Work with Assistant Director to strengthen programmatic and staff policies and develop new events and/or programs as needs are identified.

    • Participate in staff supervision and annual staff reviews

    • Oversee the development and distribution of a monthly newsletter

    • Oversee the website and all social media channels (blog, Facebook, Twitter)

    Development

    • Serve as organization’s ambassador to the community

    • Assist with the development of fundraisers and other forms of revenue, including follow-up with all grant funders, sponsors and volunteers

    • Build and maintain positive and mutual relationship with potential and current donors/funders

    • Maintain a current donor database

    • Assist in researching and writing new grant proposals that fit the organization’s mission and goals

    • Keep accurate records for organizations files and tax information

    • Send appropriate and necessary follow up, documentation and reports for all grant funders,

    sponsors, donors, volunteers, general supporters

    • Provide the Board with updates on organizational activities, including an annual strategic

    update, monthly update reports and updates at each Board meeting

    • Work with organization’s Accountant and Board to keep all revenues and payables current and develop annual budgets

    • Ensure that organization’s business/expenses fit within Board approved budget

    • Develop and maintain relationships with various news outlets

    • Prepare and distribute annual report

    • Works with the Board to ensure the organization has adequate resources to fulfill its mission.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Minimum of 3 years of nonprofit management and governance experience

    • Strong emotional intelligence and ability to coach, mentor, relate to, listen to and lead others

    • Demonstrated ability to analyze and make decisions with the ability to prioritize and communicate key objectives and approaches to achieve organizational goals

    • Exceptional written, oral and presentation skills with the ability to effectively interface with staff, Board of Directors, and external stakeholders

    • Excellent time management skills

    • Self-motivated, results driven, detail oriented, adaptable

    • Able to exercise good judgment, discretion, confidentiality

    • Demonstrated commitment to Family Voices’ mission, vision and values

    • Experience in accounting procedures, managing organizational budgets and completing financial reports for grants

    • Ability to maintain and grow relationships with grantors and other organizations that serve children and youth with disabilities

    • Demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion, and to working with diverse communities

    • Preferred: Parent or family member of a child, youth, or adult with disabilities or special health care needs preferred and/or experienced in the disability community.
