    POSITION SUMMARY:

    This position works closely with Timber Products’ sales team to service established accounts and grow customer sales. Assists the sales team with all phases of the sales and marketing process. Professionally represents the products and services that Timber Products Company provides.

     

    This position is not eligible for remote work. Must be able to work full time in the Springfield, OR offices.

    MAJOR TASKS:

    • Enhances long term relationships with existing customers by determining their needs and delivering on expectations.

    • Learns and successfully implements Timber Products’ sales process including establishing customer relationships, qualifying prospects, and assisting in closing sales.

    • Enters orders efficiently and accurately into the company ERP system.

    • Ensures that quotes, proposals and presentations are completed in a professional manner.

    • Fulfills all commitments or revises commitments when circumstances change significantly and previous timelines cannot be met.

    • Provides customer service including servicing product claims and shipment information.

    • Provides feedback to Sales Managers and team members on market conditions and product availability.

    • Provides phone coverage for incoming calls from current and prospective customers with other sales team members.

    • Maintains composure and professionalism under stressful or challenging situations.

    • Takes initiative to achieve individual and sales team goals.

    SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

    This job typically requires 1-3 years’ experience working on a sales team; wood products industry experience preferred. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field is also preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for the Bachelor’s degree. Must be proficient in the use of computers and a variety of software programs.

     

    Excellent communication and listening skills are required in order to work effectively with all levels of sales staff, and customers. Strong organizational skills, the ability to work in a team environment, and ability to produce results in conjunction with fellow team members required. Must have the ability to initiate, establish and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, customers, and suppliers.
