    Brief Description The Director, Political Programs is responsible for l eading the development and implementation of Advocacy’s political programs (PathNET and PathPAC). Coordinating and implementing Advocacy’s participation and presence at CAP enterprise meetings.

    Specific Duties

    Primary duties and responsibilities of the Director, Political Programs :

    + Develop and implement short and long-range plans and strategies to effectively utilize and strengthen the CAPs political programs.

    + Oversight of PathPAC including:

    + Fundraising initiatives,

    + contribution distribution strategy,

    + timely preparation and filing of FEC reports,

    + production of all promotional materials,

    + PathPAC donor recognition program,

    + PathPAC reception at the CAP Annual Meeting,

    + Collaborate with the PathPAC manager and legislative staff on donation distribution strategy to support our legislative agenda.

    + Oversight of PathNET, including

    + Grassroots network PathNET,

    + recruit new participants,

    + review and keep training materials up to date,

    + production of all promotional materials,

    + PathNET recognition program,

    + Increase participation level of current PathNET members.

    + Collaborate with the PathNET coordinator and legislative staff on grassroots strategy to support our legislative agenda.

    + Provides staff support for the:

    + PathPAC Board of Directors,

    + Federal and State Affairs Committees, and

    + Council on Government and Professional Affairs

    + Represent the College at CAP programs, political events, or other assigned functions.

    + Oversee the management of Aristotle, the College’s political action committee and grassroots data system.

    + Oversight of Advocacy’s planning and participation in CAP enterprise meetings (Annual Meeting, House of Delegates meetings, and Policy Meeting):

    + Be the lead on coordinating Advocacy’s presence at the CAP Annual Meeting. This includes all advocacy activities, presentations, CAP member participation, AV requirements, marketing, material development, staff plan, and on-site supervision.

    + Be the lead on coordinating the Advocacy divisions annual Policy Meeting. This requires working with the meeting team on developing content, speakers, AV requirements, meeting site logistics, budget, staffing, staff plan, pre-read materials for the meeting, and congressional visits.

    + Overall management of Advocacy’s activities with the CAP House of Delegates, Residents Forum, and Engaged Leader Network, This will include coordinating with the staff leading these programs.

    + Managing and utilizing resources across related projects; monitors and controls spending activities against defined budget.

    + Other duties as assigned.

    + Flexible and able to adapt to changing circumstances.

    + Strong organizational skills required.

    + Excellent written and oral communication skills required.

    + Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple assignments are required.

    Technical:

    + Working knowledge of Windows-based computer applications:

    + Microsoft Word

    + Access, Power Point

    + Aristotle PAC and Grassroots Software

    Education/Experience

    Education:

    + Bachelor's degree

    Experience:

    + Six years political, fundraising and grassroots experience.

    + Management experience required

    Related certifications:

    N/A

    Additional Criteria

     

    Travel: Approximately four weekends

     

    This position is based out of the Washington, DC office. Candidates must reside within 75-miles of the DC office.

     

    Salary: $114,000 - $146, 000
