**Work with a purpose!** Wilkinson County Correctional Facility located in Woodville, MS., is now hiring career-minded people to assist with securing the safety of our community while positively impacting the lives of those on the inside.

Position Summary:

Reports to the Finance Manager. Responsible for performing routine technical accounting support work. Responsible for planning and overseeing the procurement of all supplies, services, vendor contracts, and equipment for the facility operation in compliance with American Correctional Association (ACA) standards, Management & Training Corporation (MTC), and Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC) directives.

Essential Functions:

+ Provide supervision for purchasing through budget control and effective planning

+ Provide staff training in purchasing procedures and accountability

+ Assist the finance manager and administration in the preparation of the departmental budget; monitor and control expenditures

+ Assist in the development and implementation of new and revised policies and procedures affecting procurement

+ Prepare and administer all purchase order contracts, subcontracts, lease/ rental agreements and consultant contracts for equipment, service, repairs, utilities and rehab work

+ Establish and maintain a qualified vendor list annotated as to small, large or minority business; maintain and updated file on minority business vendors

+ Ensures adherence to quality standards, required delivery schedules and contractual terms

+ Coordinate with accounting department relative to accuracy of pricing data

+ Coordinate with other facility staff pertaining to procurement matters

+ Promote the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed

+ Maintain accountability of inmates and property; adhere to safety practices

It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/ her capabilities as determined by management.

Education and Experience Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent and two (2) years of purchasing or related experience required. Valid driver’s license in the state of Mississippi or Louisiana with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.

Post Hire Requirements:

Must successfully complete annual in-service training requirements.
