Job Summary
KBR is seeking a highly organized and experienced Systems Engineer to join our team to support the Search, Track, Acquire, Radiate, Eliminate (STARE) Project Office located on Redstone Arsenal, AL. As a System Engineer, you will provide comprehensive army process and acquisition support to STARE Systems Engineering Director in the area of System of Systems engineering. System of Systems Engineer duties include, but are not limited to:
Roles and Responsibilities
+ Support the development, coordination, and implementation of strategy for integration of STARE PO products into the U.S. Army integrated fires architecture.
+ Represent STARE portfolio within U.S. Army Integrated Fires Joint forums and working groups.
+ Support the development of STARE PM strategic plans that include product evolution, integration of future systems, and technology development, maturity, and insertions across the STARE PO product lines in a joint/integrated fires architecture.
+ Coordinate/ Support STARE PM product component technical requirements and performance capabilities that cross subsystem/major component functional boundaries.
+ Support technical activities to include Systems Engineering Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) for the selected product.
+ Support coordination, planning, and task execution for systems engineering and system of systems integration activities to include defining tasks, delineating roles and responsibilities, planning, coordinating, reporting status and risks to customers.
The ideal candidate should be proactive, resourceful, independently motivated and detail oriented. The candidate should possess strong interpersonal communication skills to establish and maintain effective relationships with other contractors and PM personnel and a very diverse and demanding stakeholder community (DoD and non-DoD). The position requires good time management capabilities and communication skills.
Relocation: This is a full-time, on customer site position located in Huntsville, AL just inside of Redstone Arsenal Gate 9 in Redstone Gateway. Candidate must be a resident or able to relocate to the area.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Possess a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Systems Engineering, mathematics, physics, or related field with 10+ years of experience as a systems engineer or a similar role.
+ Strong knowledge of SE processes associated DOD/Army system development and acquisition.
+ Candidate must be a US Citizen
+ Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Familiar with air and missile defense systems
+ Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences or facilitate group discussions and develop accurate written materials to clearly and concisely communicate information
+ Strong presentation skills and capable of briefing audiences of varying technical knowledge
+ Ability to operate independently in a dynamic environment with multiple tasks and tight deadlines
+ Worked with or interfaced with Army, OSD and DoD organizations and related staff processes associated with the DoD acquisition process.
+ Experience in all aspects of designing and implementing system architecture, requirements, software and software testing in DoD environment.
+ Experience working in Agile environment.
+ Experience with Mission Planning.
+ Experience with system level verification and validation.
+ Familiar with SW requirements development and integration into the SE process.
+ DAWIA Functional Area experience in Engineering & Technical Management a plus.
