What You'll Do

We're looking for an Investment Accountant to join our team. In this role, you'll partner with portfolio management teams and financial reporting accountants to provide accounting and tax support for real estate investment portfolios.

+ **Tax & Compliance**

+ Research tax regulations and provide guidance on complex matters

+ Prepare tax workpapers and supporting documentation

+ Process IRS entity classifications and handle tax notices

+ Calculate and track deferred tax positions

+ Monitor REIT compliance

+ Work with tax preparers on partnership and c-corp tax returns

+ Partner with portfolio management teams to analyze tax implications of investment strategies

+ **Investment Accounting & Financial Reporting**

+ Assist with internal financial reporting and schedules and support external reporting requirements

+ Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, client mandates, and regulatory guidance

+ **Cross-Functional Collaboration**

+ Serve as key liaison between accounting and tax teams

+ Provide technical guidance on accounting impacts of investment vehicles

+ Manage multiple client relationships

Who You Are

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

+ Minimum of 4 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within asset management, investment accounting, or financial services

+ CPA preferred

+ Experience with partnership and corporate tax returns

+ Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

+ Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively

+ Excellent communication and teamwork skills

+ Detail-oriented with process improvement mindset

+ This position may require successful completion of a criminal background check

Salary Range Information

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)

$86450 - $116850 / year

Time Off Program

Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.

This role offers an in-office and hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek) work arrangement in Des Moines, IA.
