    As Technical Specialist Sr., - Automation, you will provide programming, troubleshooting, training and commissioning services for sophisticated automated compression and process control systems throughout the enterprise. Confidence in presentation-making and the ability to work independently and as a team leader are vital in this role. Taking initiative, anticipating customer needs and crafting innovative solutions are keys to success!

    Responsibilities/Expectations:

    + Performs moderately difficult assignments to ensure system integrity, support pipeline operations, maintain compliance and maintain facility equipment

    + Troubleshoots/resolves sophisticated problems using technical evaluation, innovation and judgment

    + Develops, presents and trains internal and external partners; may mentor others

    + Participates in project planning and works closely with company partners

    + Leads development and tasks associated with operations, equipment maintenance, technical standards and/or governmental requirements

    + Reads, understands and evaluates engineering design documents, contracts and agreements

    + Partners with customers, Operations, Gas Control, SCADA, and Gas Dispatch to ensure accurate and accessible data throughout project planning and execution.

    + Reviews and interprets engineering design documents, contracts, and agreements to support project and operational needs.

    + Provides advanced support for training, troubleshooting, commissioning, archiving, and programming of control systems.

    + Demonstrates hands-on experience with PLCs, HMI, Allen Bradley, and SCADA solutions, including greenfield programming and troubleshooting.

    + Assists in the design, programming, and commissioning of control and instrumentation systems for both operations and capital projects.

    + Identifies opportunities to enhance operator experience and process efficiency by applying industry-leading control system practices.

    + Leads efforts to implement cybersecurity programs, manage system updates, and ensure control systems remain compliant and secure.

    + Participates in small-scale capital projects, updates and validates C&E’s, and supports automation system enhancements across responsible assets.

    Technical Specialist Sr

    Education/Years of Experience:

    + Required: High school diploma/GED and minimum eight (8) years of progressive experience in the natural gas or petrochemical industry

    + Preferred: Bachelor's Degree

     

    Technical Specialist III

    Education/Years of Experience:

    + Required: High school diploma/GED and equivalent experience or Associates degree in engineering or a technical field and a minimum of four (4) years’ experience in oil & gas industry

    + Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a technical field and minimum seven (7) years of progressive experience in field operations or other technical specialty

     

    Technical Specialist II

    Education/Years of Experience:

    + Required: High school diploma/GED and equivalent experience or Associates degree in technical field and a minimum two (2) years’ experience in oil & gas industry

    + Preferred: Bachelor's degree in a technical field or engineering and a minimum four (4) years of progressive experience in field operations or other technical specialty

    Shift/Work Hours/Travel Requirements:

    + May be required to work overtime, weekends or holidays as the need arises

    Other Requirements:

    + Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Application and PC skills

    + Sophisticated knowledge in enterprise administration, maintenance, reporting and support for AssetCentre and other enterprise automation systems and software

    + Solid understanding of programmable logic control, distributed control and human-machine interface systems and programming protocols for operations support
