    Job Summary and Qualifications

    + Under the general supervision of the unit’s Director or designee, the Nurse Manager is responsible for the efficient, effective management of the Labor and Delivery/Postpartum unit.

    + You will manage the budget, provide patient care services, lead performance improvement initiatives, assure compliance with regulatory standards, and participate in business development.

    + You will be responsible for the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in department, in collaboration with other members of the management team.

    + You will assume responsibility for the direction and coordination of all functions throughout the department.

    + You will function as a resource person for supervisors, charge nurses and staff members, and assist in necessary education of individual members of the nursing staff.

    + You will make decisions regarding activities within these areas based on Administrative Operational Standards, Nursing Administrative Standards, Human Resource Standards, and Standards of Care for the unit, in collaboration with other members of the management team.

    What qualifications you will need:

    Education:

    + Bachelor’s degree (BSN) required.

    Experience:

    + Minimum of 2 years of labor and delivery/postpartum nursing.

    + Leadership and management experience is highly preferred.

    + Leadership and management experience is highly desirable.

    Licenses, Registrations and/or Certifications:

    + Texas State RN license or compact license is accepted.

    + Current BLS required; ACLS, BLS and NRP required.

    + Specialty Certification is required and to be maintained.
