Job Summary and Qualifications
The Rehabilitation Services Manager is responsible for management and growth of Acute, Outpatient & Inpatient Rehab Therapy Department, including program development and marketing, PI, budget and personnel management.
What you will do in this role:
+ Integrate organizational and departmental values, mission, and strategic planning.
+ Continuously assess and improve the performance of care/services provided by the Acute, Outpatient & Inpatient therapy Departments.
+ Coordinate assessment, development, implementation, and evaluation of Rehab Services Departmental Policies/Procedures and regulatory requirements that will appropriately guide and support the provision of services to be provided.
+ Develop Acute, Outpatient & Inpatient Therapy budgets, including recommendations regarding staffing levels, space requirements, and other resource needs based on the work to be accomplished.
+ In collaboration with Administrative director of Rehab Services and Human Resources and Education, ensure the timely development and/or revision of departmental job descriptions, competencies and wage scales to reflect current job duties.
+ Effectively manage departmental staff issues related to hiring, terminations and disciplinary actions, consulting with Administrative Director of Rehab Services and Human Resources as necessary.
+ Establish support and maintain a departmental equipment/safety management program in collaboration with Administrative Director of Rehab Services and Engineering and/or Safety Committee.
+ Provide a positive environment for employee growth, development, and retention; with open communication throughout the system and effective allocation and utilization of human resources.
+ Assume responsibility for continually improving critical thinking, professional excellence, and personal well-being and recommending new services.
+ Analyze payor mix and opportunity and implements correlated action plan; assist with PAIS, insurance authorization as needed.
+ Effectively integrate interdepartmental resources into performance objectives for patient outcomes and customer satisfaction.
+ Analyze customer satisfaction and designs/implements action plans as indicated.
+ Represent all Therapists at the SHMC Stroke Response Team meetings.
What qualifications you will need:
+ Active licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT), Occupational Therapist (OT), or Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) required.
+ 5 years of experience in an Acute Rehab setting required.
+ 2 years of leadership experience in an Acute Rehab setting strongly preferred.
+ Experience in providing educational programs and public speaking relating to Marketing responsibilities preferred.
+ Current BLS required.
