CUNY’s Hunter College, School of Arts and Sciences, invites applications for a full-time, tenured faculty position at the rank of Associate Professor, with an anticipated start date of Fall 2026. The successful candidate will be a faculty member and associate of the Asian American Studies Program teaching courses and providing service. This program has a 32-year history at Hunter College and currently offers a 12-credit minor and enrolls almost 1,000 students in its courses annually.
The candidate will be tenured in the Sociology department, with a productive and energetic faculty working to build synergy and public engagement while collaborating with various programs and institutions across Hunter College. The Sociology Department offers a liberal arts major as well as a master’s program to a large, diverse and vibrant student body. The department has over 400 students who are Sociology majors, full time and adjunct faculty teach over 90 courses a semester, and it serves over 3000 students each semester.
Last but not least, the candidate will have a Graduate Center of the City University of New York (GC-CUNY) appointment and responsibilities in the PhD BRES (Black Race and Ethnic Studies) Programs.
