What we want
The K-12 Program Coordinator, under general supervision plans, organizes and directs the day-to-day outreach activities for the Rural Medicine ISD Program. Assists with developing and implementing engaging learning opportunities that introduce students to healthcare careers, while also supporting partnerships that strengthen rural health education. Collaborates and engage effectively with schools, communities and healthcare partners.
What you need to know
Salary: $45,000 to $46,800

Schedule: This position may require work beyond normal office hours and/or work on weekends.
Travel: Must be able to travel throughout Texas to rural counties & school districts.
Please Note: This position is grant funded; future employment may be contingent upon future funding.
Qualifications Required Education & Experience
+ Bachelor’s Degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience in teaching and/or program coordination.
+ 2 years' experience working in educational setting.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Texas teaching certification.
+ Five years' experience working in educational setting.
+ Previous TAMU experience.
+ Experience with conference and event planning.
+ Experience working with faculty, staff, and students.
+ Experience managing and/or coordinating the delivery of curriculum.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
+ Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
+ Strong interpersonal, leadership, problem solving, and organizational skills. Maintains attention to detail and utilizes sound judgement.
+ Ability to work cooperatively with others.
+ Ability to travel independently to other and/or remote locations by driving.
Responsibilities
Program Planning, Implementation, and Evaluation
+ Plans, organizes, and coordinates outreach activities and events that promote healthcare career awareness for K-12 students.
+ Develops and implements learning opportunities, camps, field trips and virtual learning events that align with program goals.
+ Coordinates logistics for program events, such as med camps and field trip experiences.
+ Ensures compliance with youth protection (UYP) program guidelines.
+ Track participation, evaluate outcomes, and prepare reports to inform program development and growth.
+ Performs related duties as assigned to advance the mission of the Rural Medicine ISD Program.
+ Responds to inquiries regarding program offerings.
Fiscal Management
+ Manages and secures vendor contracts for events including hotels, catering, space rental etc.
+ Tracks expenditures and processes purchases.
Stakeholder Relationships
+ Establishes and maintains strong working relationships with rural school districts, teachers and community stakeholders.
+ Prepares presentations for internal & external partners.
+ Maintains and develops communications between partners by attending meetings and conference calls.
+ Represents the program at meetings, conferences and community events.
+ May develop and update training materials and deliver training sessions.
Reporting and Documentation
+ Prepares reports on program attendance and activities.
+ Provides documentation and data to team that represents the impact of the K-12 Rural Medicine.
+ Outreach.
+ Maintains documentation and reports as required by TAMU University Youth Programs.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
