Here's a Glimpse of the Job
The Research and Interventions for Stress-related Conditions (RISC) lab at Texas A&M University has an opening for a Part-time Research Assistant responsible for scheduling participant visits, coordinating and training undergraduate research assistants, electroencephalography (EEG) and peripheral psychophysiological data collection and processing, and ecological momentary assessment (EMA) data collection, cleaning, and processing. The research assistant will also assist the PI with IRB approvals, data management, community outreach, participant recruitment, managing social media account and assisting with day-to-day coordination of laboratory activities and needs. The selected candidate will also have the opportunity to assist the PI with federal grant submissions and will receive extensive training in EEG and EMA data collection and processing. Opportunities for training in clinical interviewing may also be available.

Opportunities to contribute:
+ Assists Primary Investigator with data collection through in-person and virtual modalities, neurophysiological, behavioral, and self-reported data with healthy adults and adults experiencing psychopathology.
+ Clean, process, and score EEG, behavioral, peripheral psychophysiological (e.g., heart rate, skin conductance), and self-report data.
+ construct and maintain datasets for statistical analysis; work with the PI and graduate students to organize data storage and sharing.
+ Assists with scheduling participants for interviews and lab visits who present to the lab from various sources using several sources (social media, mailing, email, in-person, flyers).
+ Respond to emails, make copies, answer phone calls, conduct phone screenings for participant recruitment.
+ May learn to apply statistical analysis and scientific writing.
Qualifications
+ High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ 2 years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree
+ Prior experience in a research role (e.g., research assistant)
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills.
+ Demonstrated high attention to detail.
+ Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
+ Ability to build strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
+ Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Salary: Compensation will be commensurate based on the selected hire’s education and experience.
Special Note: This position is funded from grant and/or contract funding, which is renewed through provisions of the grantor of the contract. Therefore, this position is contingent upon continuation of funding from these grants and/or contracts, as well as satisfactory job performance.
