Overview
HarperCollins Publishers is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented **Portfolio Operations Intern** to join our Portfolio Operations Team within the IT Division, reporting directly to the Senior Director, Portfolio Operations. This internship offers hands-on experience in both project management and IT operations, providing exposure to real-world business and technology initiatives in a dynamic publishing environment.
Responsibilities
+ **Support Project Delivery:** Assist in planning, organizing, and tracking projects from initiation to completion.
+ **Facilitate Team Collaboration:** Help schedule and document meetings, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and ensure timely follow-ups on action items.
+ **Process Improvement:** Contribute to process documentation and recommend improvements to enhance team efficiency and operational effectiveness.
+ **Reporting & Analysis:** Prepare project status updates, operational reports, and presentations for stakeholders.
+ **Tool Utilization:** Learn and use project management and IT service tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, MS Office Suite) to support daily operations.
+ **Problem Solving:** Analyze business challenges, break down problems, and help propose actionable solutions.
+ **Ad Hoc Support:** Take on varied assignments as needed, supporting both project and operational initiatives.
+ **Quality & Compliance:** Support quality control processes and help ensure compliance with organizational standards.
Qualifications
+ Candidates who are available to work in a full-time capacity in 2026 or 2027 are eligible for this internship; open to rising seniors, recent graduates, master’s students, or entry level candidates with up to two years of work experience.
+ Candidates must be available to work 28 hours per week, Monday through Thursday, from June 8 to August 13, 2026, at our New York City office. This internship is compensated at a rate of $18 per hour.

+ Ideal candidates are either currently enrolled in or have recently graduated from an undergraduate or master’s program.
+ A passion for books is highly valued!
+ Ideal candidates are either currently enrolled in or have recently graduated from an undergraduate or master’s program in Business, Information Technology, Operations, or a related field
+ Strong organizational and time management skills.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
+ Eagerness to learn new tools and business processes.
+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
+ Positive attitude, self-motivated, and adaptable to changing priorities.
+ Experience with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) required; familiarity with Jira, Confluence, or project management methodologies is a plus.
+ Interest in publishing, media, or technology industries is a bonus.
