    What You'll Be Doing (A Glimpse into Your Day in the ED):

    + **Rapid Assessment & Intervention:** You'll be the first point of contact for patients in critical moments, quickly assessing their needs, initiating life-saving interventions, and stabilizing conditions.

    + **Dynamic Patient Care:** From trauma and cardiac events to acute illnesses and unexpected injuries, you'll manage a wide array of patient presentations, often simultaneously, always with a focus on delivering compassionate and efficient care.

    + **Collaborative Teamwork:** You'll work hand-in-hand with an incredible multidisciplinary team including ED physicians, specialists, technologists, and support staff, ensuring seamless transitions of care and optimal patient outcomes.

    + **Patient & Family Advocacy:** In the fast-paced ED, you'll be a source of comfort and clear communication for patients and their anxious families, providing updates, explanations, and emotional support.

    + **Crisis Management:** Demonstrating proficiency in crisis situations, you'll efficiently manage critical events, adapting quickly to evolving circumstances, and playing a crucial role in patient stabilization.

    + **Charting Your Growth:** We are committed to your professional development. You'll complete defined job-specific competencies, including age-specific care, ensuring you have the skills to handle any challenge that comes through our doors.

    + **Leading by Example:** You'll embody and promote behaviors associated with leadership, assisting and mentoring colleagues, and contributing to the overall excellence of our unit.

    What You Bring to the ER:

    + **Exceptional Organizational Skills:** The ED is fast-paced! You'll demonstrate the ability to prioritize and manage multiple patient assignments and activities efficiently.

    + **Sharp Clinical Acumen:** A working knowledge of clinical skills in both routine and emergent patient care scenarios is essential.

    + **Cool Under Pressure:** The ability to function efficiently and effectively during high-stress and crisis situations is paramount.

    + **Certification Ready:** Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification is required within the orientation period and ongoing re-certification.

    + **Beyond the Basics (Preferred, but not required for new grads!):** We value certifications like ACLS, PALS, TNCC, but we're also here to help you achieve them!

    Work Agreement:

    + **Shift Type:** Day, Mid Shift, Night

    + **Shift Length:** 12 hours

    + **On Call Expectations:** None

    + **Weekend/Holiday Rotation:** Every 3rd Weekend/Every 3rd Holiday

    Job Requirements

    + **Education:** Nursing degree from an approved school of nursing. **BSN preferred, but we enthusiastically welcome ADN graduates!**

    + **Licensure:** Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Dakota OR in a compact state.

    + **Experience:**

    + **New Grads Welcome!** We provide comprehensive orientation and mentorship to help you confidently transition into your ED role.

    + For experienced nurses, at least two (2) years of clinical experience within an emergency or acute care setting is preferred, but your passion and skills are what truly count!

CHI St. Alexius Health manages four CAHs in North Dakota - Elgin, Linton, and Wishek, as well as Mobridge Regional Medical Center in Mobridge, S.D. CHI St. Alexius Health offers a comprehensive line of inpatient and outpatient medical services, including: a Level II Trauma Center, primary and specialty physician clinics, home health and hospice services, durable medical equipment services, a fitness and human performance center and ancillary services throughout western and central North Dakota.

    Pay Range

    $34.35 - $49.22 /hour
