Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Payroll Analyst to join our team and take a lead role in ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and efficiency of payroll operations. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in payroll processing, data analysis, and regulatory compliance, and will serve as a key resource for reporting, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Processing

+ Process of end-to-end payroll for multiple employee groups, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal laws.

+ Prepare and validate payroll inputs, including time and attendance data, deductions, bonuses, and commissions.

+ Ensure accurate payroll outputs, including paychecks, direct deposits, and payroll reports.

Analysis & Reporting

+ Analyze payroll data to identify discrepancies, trends, and improvement opportunities.

+ Prepare detailed reports on payroll costs for Finance, reconciliation of benefits deductions, and labor analytics.

+ Support financial audits, internal audits, and compliance reviews with required payroll documentation.

+ Other special projects and analysis as needed

+ Assist with administering certain benefits programs (short term life, 401k, disability)

Compliance & Controls

+ Ensure adherence to payroll-related legislation and internal policies.

+ Maintain accurate payroll records in compliance with retention and confidentiality standards.

+ Assist with quarterly and year-end activities, including W-2, retirement plan, benefits and tax reconciliation.

Systems & Process Improvement

+ Act as a subject matter expert on the payroll system and participate in system upgrades, testing, and integrations.

+ Identify and recommend process improvements to streamline payroll operations and enhance accuracy.

+ Collaborate cross-functionally with HR, Finance, and IT teams to resolve payroll-related issues.

Stakeholder Support

+ Serve as an escalation point for complex payroll inquiries from employees and stakeholders.

+ Provide guidance and support to junior payroll team members as needed.

Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field (or equivalent experience) or;

+ Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on payroll experience in a mid-to-large size organization.

+ Advanced knowledge of payroll systems (ADP preferred).

+ Strong understanding of payroll tax regulations, FLSA, and wage and hour laws.

+ High proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
