    The Quality Control Technician will test and disposition finished products and raw materials per defined quality plans within a chemical manufacturing facility. They also perform non-routine testing, tasks and investigation as required to maintain product quality. The incumbent is expected to efficiently and accurately conduct testing and appropriately rework batches at a rate necessary to enable production personnel to continue work at an unimpaired rate.

     

    + Generation of finished product and raw material certificates of compliance.

    + Manual testing of raw materials and finished products according to specific quality plan.

    + Tool calibrations as required.

    + Data entry of test results.

    + Maintaining cleanliness of work stations.

    + Reviewing & filing vendor Certificates of Analysis.

    + Labeling and moving raw materials in computer inventory.

    + Directing rework of non-conforming batches.

    + Dispose of QC wastes in the prescribed manner.

    + Assist lab/sales personnel with appropriate testing in development of specifications for new products.

    + Initiating investigation of statistically suspect process data.

    + Entering test results into local testing software.

    + Technician-level expertise in corporate-mandated ERP software.

    + The incumbent is expected to communicate as appropriate with the following internal and external entities as appropriate to the situation.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + High School diploma or equivalent.

    + Ability to manually prepare samples for testing.

    + Ability to wear respirator as judged by qualitative fit test.

    + Ability to speak, read, and understand English.

    + Basic knowledge of statistics.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + BS in chemistry or biology.

    + Equivalent industrial experience.

    + Prior quality control/laboratory experience.

    + Mechanical aptitude.

    + Knowledge of required continuous improvement techniques.
