    Our client, a leading organization in the financial services industry, is seeking a Mainframe Storage Engineer to join their team in their Richmond location. As a Mainframe Storage Engineer, you will be part of the Infrastructure Support Department supporting Mainframe Storage projects. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach, which will align successfully in the organization.

    What's the Job?

     

    + Support systems engineering activities for Mainframe (System z) Storage projects, including design, build, development, and implementation.

    + Maintain and operate DASD management and replication systems, ensuring high availability and performance.

    + Collaborate with senior personnel and project managers on technical projects, providing guidance and peer reviews.

    + Assist with the implementation of new Mainframe Storage technologies and support ongoing operations.

    + Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation to support system configurations and procedures.

     

    What's Needed?

     

    + Minimum of 5-10 years of experience as an MF Storage administrator.

    + Proficiency with Hitachi Vantara DASD synchronous and asynchronous replication.

    + Experience with IBM TAPE GRID configurations and Broadcom (Brocade) FICON directors.

    + Knowledge of mainframe operations, including ACC/SRS, ACS, DFHSM, ICKDSF, CA1, User Catalogs, ABARS, TDMF, and DFDSS.

    + Strong technical documentation writing skills and proficiency with SAS, VISIO, MS Office, and REXX.
