    As a solutions architect, you will lead industrial software partner solutions for Amazon Web Services (AWS) working with our Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) and customers in the field of Horizontal Business Applications (HBA) such a Customer Relationships Management (CRM), Digital Experience (DX), Robotic Process Automation (RPA), and more. This role requires a technical leader with enterprise scale experience supporting advanced cloud solutions for potentially large and multidisciplinary vertical segments. You will have the exciting opportunity to build mind share, establish customer and partner trust, and nurture adoption of the AWS cloud computing platform across AWS’s most strategic business partners.

     

    You will be a technical leader within the cross-functional team, passionate about growing technology adoption of ISVs. You will collaborate with some of the largest ISVs and consulting companies to ensure they build scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions on AWS. You will be as comfortable white boarding complex software architectures with a room full of engineers and engaging directly with technical leaders, C-level executives and influencers. You will get the opportunity to work with an array of AWS partners, from well-established tech & consulting giants to innovative startups that were born in the cloud. You will author white papers and reference architectures that the global Solution Architect (SA) community will leverage within AWS. You will deliver technical webinars, speak at public events and file patents for what might be a future AWS product or feature. As the ideal candidate, you will possess the technical acumen to engage at all levels of an organization; as well as the ability to dive deep and build cloud-optimized architectures.

     

    Candidates should demonstrate the ability to think strategically and long-term about the needs of global businesses, financial implications, and are deeply familiar with complex legacy IT environments, as well as new native digital environments. Experience working directly with enterprise customers is required, and prior experience working with technology companies is a plus. Previous AWS experience is preferred but not required. Strong Public speaking and writing skills are required. This is a senior level position with the ability to scale for the right candidate.

     

    Up to 25% travel may be required.

    Key job responsibilities

    • Working backwards from customers and ISVs identify portfolio of solutions, their themes, and demonstrate AWS value proposition.

    • Working together with the business development teams, and solutions, architects develop the technical strategy and approach for enhancing the AWS offerings of Independent Software Vendors (ISVs).

    • Build and maintain Establish technical credibility in sales cycles (personally or with the broader technical team), and drive discussions with CEOs, CIOs, CTOs, Chief Architects, and/or Senior Developers from our partners and customers.

    • Collaborate with AWS partners to realize cloud-based solutions offerings, including development of reference architectures, creation of thought leadership collateral, and public industry presentations.

    • Serve as the voice of our partners and customers with our internal service teams to promote functional enhancements to AWS service offerings. Collaborate with AWS field sales, training, and support teams to ensure partner success.

    • Exhibit Thought Leadership by evangelizing services and solutions offered by AWS that benefit customers. Share best practices through forums such as AWS blogs, white papers, reference architectures and public speaking events such as industry conferences, and AWS re:Invent.

    A day in the life

     

    Meeting partner product managers and engineering teams to talk about blockers or get feedback about ongoing build activities. Building and testing a Proof of Concept (PoC) or create a code sample. Writing a blog post or white paper. Spending time consuming technical news and learning about the latest happenings in the market and software community. Guide AWS Partners on architectural best practices.

The AMER Tech PSA team covers key partners in the US across HBA, FSI, Industrial software, Energy, Power & Utilities, Retail, Consumer Packaged Goods, Healthcare, Life Sciences, Media & Entertainment, Gaming, and Supply Chain.

    Basic Qualifications

    - 2+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience

    - 4+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience

     

    - 5+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience

     

    - Experience designing and implementing cloud-native applications

    Preferred Qualifications

    - Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries

     

    - Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud

     

    - Strong presentation and communication skills with technical and business audiences

     

    - Experience working with enterprise software companies or SaaS providers

    Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The Colorado base pay for this position ranges from $131,300/year up to $177,600/year. The National base pay for this position ranges from $118,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $204,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
