Key job responsibilities
In this role you will:
Innovate & design for solutions to provide world class Developer experience
Write high-quality, efficient, testable code in Java and other object-oriented languages.
Build highly available, secure, distributed systems in a micro services architecture.
Collaborate with some of the best engineers in the industry to work on complex challenges in large-scale computing and find out what it takes to engineer systems for “Amazon Scale”
Own and operate the systems that you build based on real-time customer data and demanding service-level agreements.
A day in the life
The average day is focused on delivering upon our prioritized product features and collaborating with members of the team on planning and designing future features.
We gather on a daily Scrum to support each other in our work and help overcome blockers as a team.
About the team
The team owns the API endpoint that millions of selling partners around the world use to manage their business on Amazon's stores. As part of the team, you have the chance to make a significant impact on our systems, our business, and most importantly, our customers by building highly scalable, reliable, and extensible systems. Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
