    A Formulation Chemist Technician job in Morrisville, NC is available through Belcan. In this role you will support the formulation technology team with by compounding and benchmarking various pesticide formulations.

    Job Responsibilities:

    * Perform a variety of formulation and characterization tests. This can include using equipment such as particle mills, mixers, homogenizers, and ovens, as well as instruments such as pH meters, microscopes, particle size analyzers, rheometers, etc.

    * Record observational and instrumental data in a lab notebook. Keep detailed logs of materials, weights, batch numbers, dates, etc.

    * Input Recipe Information and Results into our LIMS system.

    * Be able to analyze, rationalize, and intuit differences stemming from performance, stability, or other parameters.

    * Eventually, be able to function independent from supervision and create formulations and experimental designs.

    * Competent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Powerpoint. Be able to learn the user Interfaces of various instruments and software.

    * Strong communication skills. Be able to effectively communicate to the supervisor and the team results and ideas.

    * Strong collaboration skills. As part of the Global Innovation team, Formulation Technology is a piece of R&D; success must come from all sides.

    * Contributes to the Morrisville site safety programs.

    * Reports to the Formulations Development Manager.

    Job Qualifications:

    - Minimum of Bachelor"s Degree in chemistry or chemical engineering and 0-3 years of related experience

    - Minimum of Bachelor"s Degree in other science fields also considered with relevant courses or experience

    - Experience handling chemicals in a lab environment. Experience working with instruments

     

    - Good computer skills, especially of common MS Office applications.

     

    - Experience in chemical hygiene and understanding Safety Data Sheets (SDS)

     

    - Strong willingness to learn new skills to flexibly support other functions such as the Analytical team.

     

    - Good communication skills (oral & written) and able to work in a team environment

     

    - Self-motivated, flexible and adaptable to change

     

    - Multi-task capable and able to work under deadlines

     

    - Able to handle work at a fast pace

     

    - Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
