What you'll do

Under the supervision of the Physical Plant Supervisor, the General Tech I has the primary responsibility for completing preventive and corrective work orders. Perform minor carpentry, electrical and plumbing work. Assist maintenance mechanics as needed. Assist with snow removal and grounds as needed. Monitor and maintain all building systems while on shift. Other duties as assigned.

+ Complete work orders in timely manner

+ Complete assigned preventive maintenance duties in timely manner

+ Maintains a clean and safe work environment

+ Keeps track of tools and equipment

+ Works safely and practices lockout/tagout

+ Assists trades and grounds personnel as required

+ Professionalism & courteous interactions with others

+ Accounts for time on work orders

+ Other duties as assigned

What we need from you

Education:

+ High School Diploma, GED or Vocational School graduate, preferred

Experience:

+ Experience in a building trade setting, preferred

+ Healthcare experience, preferred

+ Basic understanding of building systems, required

Licensure/Certification:

+ NYS Driver's license and be approved by the hospital insurance carrier to operate hospital vehicles, required

Physical Requirements:

+ Heavy Work - Exerting up to 100 lbs. for force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects

+ Occasional balancing, climbing, typing/clerical/dexterity, repetitive motion, seeing/monitor/computer use

+ Frequent crouching, grasping, hearing, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity (color, depth, perception), walking

+ Constant fit testing

Hazards:

+ Occasional burns, chemical, electrical

+ Frequent mechanical

Working conditions:

+ Occasional extreme temperatures, noise, vibration, wet and/or humid, dust, fumes, gases, mists, odors

Travel:

+ No travel required

Pay Range

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards. The above compensation range represents a good faith belief of the compensation range by Bassett Healthcare Network, and its entities and affiliates, at the time of this posting or advertisement.

Pay Range Minimum:

USD $17.67/Hr.

Pay Range Maximum:

USD $26.50/Hr.
