    Job Description

    We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team on the 2nd shift. You will work as part of a team of four Maintenance Technicians to ensure production equipment is operating efficiently. Your role will involve scheduling preventative maintenance and troubleshooting equipment issues, with a particular focus on pumps, bearings, gearboxes, and 3-phase electrical systems. You will also handle emergency calls and perform maintenance on ovens, conveyors, mixers, and motors. The ability to weld or fabricate is required.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and emergency repairs on production equipment.

    + Troubleshoot and resolve issues with pumps, bearings, gearboxes, and 3-phase electrical systems.

    + Conduct maintenance on ovens, conveyors, mixers, and motors.

    + Collaborate with a team of Maintenance Technicians to ensure efficient operation of equipment.

    + Utilize skills in welding or fabrication as necessary.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in electrical systems, particularly 3-phase wiring.

    + Strong mechanical skills involving gears, motors, grease, bearings, and pneumatics.

    + Experience in welding, specifically TIG welding and fabrication.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience in the food and beverage industry is a plus.

    Work Environment

     

    The position is for the 2nd shift, from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, with every other Saturday likely required. Expect to work in a clean facility with simple equipment such as conveyors, ovens, mixers, and packaging equipment. The environment may get hot during summer months due to the operation of ovens. You will be required to wear hair nets, beard nets, and adhere to GMP standards. The facility is known for its production of bread products, and you might find flour and dust on your clothing.

    This is a Permanent position based out of Wyoming, Michigan.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $53040.00 - $60320.00/yr.

     

    On the 31st calendar day of employment, you will be eligible to participate in our Company health and welfare plans. You will be required to make contributions toward insurance coverage based upon the type of coverage you choose. At the start of the next quarter following 60 days of employment, you will automatically be enrolled at a before-tax contribution rate of 3% into the company’s 401(k) plan. For additional information about our benefit plans, please review the applicable summary plan description. If there is any discrepancy between this offer letter and the governing benefit plan documents, the plan documents will control. You will be eligible for 1 vacation pay after one year of employment. Your vacation time will be calculated in accordance with Alpha Baking Company’s Vacation policy. Your vacation time is calculated on the time you worked in the previous year.

     

    Additional benefits include three (3) floating holidays per calendar year, company provided life insurance and short term disability insurance, company provided uniforms, and incentive pay for perfect attendance.
