    Warehouse Manager

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    -Organize raw materials and finished goods so that materials or products are easily identified and remain

     

    in superior condition.

     

    - Oversee incoming and outgoing shipments to assure accuracy, completeness, condition of shipments

     

    and accuracy of accompanying paperwork.

     

    - Assist with loading and unloading trucks, stocking the production areas, transferring materials between

     

    buildings, and arranging stock.

     

    - Coordinate with sales, production and work areas on materials needed for daily production.

     

    - Prepare stock in warehouse for physical inventory counts and assist in reconciling inventory numbers.

     

    - Sort and segregate orders daily for cost effective shipping methods and on-time delivery.

     

    - Coordinate with our freight carriers and customers on pick-up and deliveries of materials.

     

    - Ensure daily shipping and receiving information is turned into the front office for processing.

     

    - Monitor and order warehouse supplies as needed.

     

    - Coordinate with off-site storage facilities for deliveries, pickups, and space allocations.

     

    - Notify the appropriate department of inventory discrepancies or shipping delays.

     

    - Inspect and maintain all warehouse equipment including air compressor, wrapping machine, forklifts,

     

    pallet jacks, clamp truck, scale, etc.

     

    - Occasionally make deliveries or pick up materials using our truck or another company vehicle.

     

    - Responsible for hands on portion of warehouse personnel training and development, including training

     

    on use of all equipment.

     

    - Monitor efficiencies and utilization of staff/trainer, materials, storage space and machinery.

     

    - Maintain accurate production/wage records of trainees assuring that they are complete and turned in at

     

    the end of each day.

     

    - Participate in all required department meetings and in-services.

     

    - Completes special assignments and projects as assigned.

     

    - This position requires at least three weeks (21 days) notice for voluntary resignation of employment.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND COMPETENCIES

    Knowledge Areas: Inventory management systems; logistics; supply chain principles; warehouse operations,

     

    delivery scheduling, and best practices; supervision; data entry; equipment operation and maintenance;

     

    warehouse safety principles, policies, and procedures; loading, transporting, and unloading procedures;

     

    Microsoft Office Suite; administrative paperwork; business ethics; basic mathematics; employee safety

     

    programs; English communication; time management; security systems; and customer service expectations,

     

    objectives, and accountabilities.

     

    Skills: Conduct inventory procedures; load, transport, and unload products and supplies; complete Bill of

    Ladings for all outgoing deliveries, operate and maintain all warehouse equipment, read and interpret

    documents (e.g., safety rules, procedure manuals, maintenance guidelines); basic mathematics; time

     

    management; equipment and safety; completes paperwork accurately; labor and delivery scheduling; attention

     

    to detail; well organized; prioritizes work to meet deadlines; communicates effectively in English; maintains

     

    relationships with business partners, supervision; interprets and follows legal regulations, policies, and

     

    procedures; and provides excellent customer service by ensuring individuals needs are fulfilled in an accurate,

     

    complete, and timely fashion by demonstrating courtesy, efficiency, and professionalism.

    Competencies:

    - Warehouse Operations: Understands how the functional components of a warehouse, and individual

     

    work shifts must align; ensures all operations comply with Agency standards; responsible for proper

     

    checklist completion, effective shift labor usage, and efficient business processes.

     

    - Driving: Complies with all local, state, and federal driving laws; demonstrates courtesy and concern for

     

    other street vehicles, pedestrians, and pets; operates the vehicle properly regardless of weather

     

    conditions, time of day, or traffic conditions.

     

    - Interpersonal Skills: Conveys messages clearly through verbal, non-verbal, and/or written techniques;

     

    demonstrates active listening skills; treats others with respect, collaboration, and support such that

     

    work relationships are improved, and morale is increased.

     

    - Decision Quality: Makes good decisions (without considering how much time it takes) based upon a

     

    mixture of analysis, experience, contingencies, and judgment; most solutions and suggestions turn out

     

    to be correct and accurate when judged over time; sought out by others for advice and solutions.

     

    - Organization: Highly organized and able to plan ahead to ensure warehouse remains organized; focused

     

    on organization as a tool to keep accurate inventories.

     

    - Safety: Performs duties related to the prevention, control, and reporting of personal illness/injury and

     

    loss or damage to equipment/facility; role models PPE; demonstrates competence in all aspects of

     

    production, safety, and delivery; oversees safety checks and reporting.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Truck Driver/Warehouse Worker

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Education and/or Experience: High school diploma is required, college degree preferred. Prior experience

     

    working in a shipping/receiving warehouse. Experience in inventory management and/or logistics preferred.

     

    Certifications, Licenses, Registrations: Clean non-CDL-C (or higher classification) NYS driver's license required.

    and hearing ability for communicating with others, and ability to gather and access written and computerized

    information. The employee is required to use handles, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is also

     

    required to walk, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must be able to lift/or

     

    move up to 50 pounds.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The

     

    employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is

    The rate of pay for this position is an annual salary of $46,800 based on $22.50/ hour.
