    What you'll do

     

    The Clinical Laboratory Technical Assistant acts as the primary contact for laboratory customer inquiries, requests and communication. Triages calls independently as appropriate, provides courteous, prompt and complete follow-up to customer inquiries and communication. The Technical Assistant assists in problem resolution related to laboratory specimens, orders, and/or reports including providing assistance to licensed laboratory staff, practitioners and nursing staff. Maintains reagent, supply and product inventory, temperature, maintenance and other required documentation. Performs other duties as assigned within scope of their education and regulatory requirements.

     

    + Acts as the primary contact for laboratory customer inquiries, requests, and communication

    + Triages calls as appropriate, provides courteous, prompt and complete follow up to customer inquiries and communications

    + Maintains adequate inventory of reagents and/or supplies, by following established procedures for ordering, receiving, storing and documenting

    + Maintains temperature, maintenance and other pertinent records/reports to meet regulatory standards and/or PI reporting

    + Performs waived testing as assigned

    + Consistently follows all hospital and laboratory policies and procedures

    + Assists with training of new staff as requested

    + Completes responsibilities as defined on the laboratory’s task lists

    + Performs other duties within their scope of practice as assigned

     

    What we need from you

    Education:

    + High School Diploma or GED, required

    + 2 year / Associate degree, preferred

    Experience:

    + Minimum 2 years experience in standard laboratory methodologies (work or school), required

    + Associate degree or higher in laboratory or science related field may be substituted for experience

    Physical Requirements:

    + Medium work: exerting up to 50 lbs. for force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects

    + Occasional crouching, grasping, knee,ing, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, stooping, fit testing

    + Frequent typing/clerical/dexterity, hearing, repetitive motion, seeing/monitor/computer use, standing, talking, visual acuity (color, depth, perception), walking

    Hazards:

    + Occasional bodily fluids/bloodborne exposure

    Travel:

    + Occasional Travel – the job may require travel from time-to-time, but not on a regular basis

    Pay Range

     

    Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards. The above compensation range represents a good faith belief of the compensation range by Bassett Healthcare Network, and its entities and affiliates, at the time of this posting or advertisement.

    Pay Range Minimum:

    USD $19.12/Hr.

    Pay Range Maximum:

    USD $28.68/Hr.
