Job Title: Installation Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Vehicle Installation Technician for a full-time position in Jessup, MD. The role involves working with public safety vehicles to perform electronic upgrades and custom installations, such as LED lighting and media systems. Our ideal candidate has experience in vehicle electronics and is passionate about delivering high-quality installations.

Responsibilities

+ Install vehicle equipment and perform diagnostics or repairs both in the shop and at customer locations.

+ Follow wiring diagrams and assembly instructions for light bars, in-car video systems, computer systems, canine units, and other electronic equipment.

+ Conduct basic programming of installed equipment, test functionality, and troubleshoot as needed.

+ Demonstrate product usage and installation to customers to ensure proper placement and programming.

+ Collaborate with the sales team and management to ensure customers are quoted accurately and informed about installation/service bulletins.

+ Maintain an orderly and clean working environment, ensuring the shop remains organized.

Essential Skills

+ High School diploma or equivalent.

+ 2+ years of experience in after-market vehicle enhancements and installations.

+ Intermediate knowledge of automotive electrical systems and vehicle wiring.

+ Valid driver's license with a clean driving history.

+ Proficiency in operating power tools and hand tools (e.g., drill, wrench, screwdriver, wire strippers).

+ Ownership of personal tools.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with Law Enforcement or Fire/EMS vehicles is preferred.

+ EVT Certification is preferred or willingness to work towards certification.

+ Familiarity with tools such as multi meters, power probes, crimpers, socket sets, and drill bits.

Work Environment

Work in a small shop environment with 18 employees, with plans to expand by 2-3 more. The environment is supportive and fosters growth, with necessary tools like rechargeable head lights, trim removal tools, and coax crimpers provided.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jessup, Maryland.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
