    Job Title: Forklift Operator

    Job Description

    As a Forklift Operator, you will utilize a sit-down forklift to move products through a manufacturing facility. You will be responsible for counterbalancing products, using an RF scanner, unloading products into a cooler, and utilizing a reach truck to load products into a three-rack storage system. Additional tasks include loading and unloading trucks in the bay area, using computer systems for basic functions, and picking orders using a scanner.

    Responsibilities

    + Operate sit-down forklifts and reach trucks to move and load products.

    + Unload products into a cooler and maintain storage organization.

    + Utilize RF scanners for inventory management and order picking.

    + Load and unload trucks in the bay area efficiently.

    + Perform basic computer functions, including email.

    + Maintain cleanliness by sweeping, mopping, and picking up debris.

    + Work comfortably in cooler environments (26-28 degrees).

    + Handle raw and cooked meat products safely.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience with sit-down forklifts and reach trucks.

    + Familiarity with RF scanners and pallet jacks.

    + Ability to handle material in a food manufacturing/cold storage environment.

    + Comfortable working with raw meat products.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with counterbalance forklifts.

    + Knowledge of GMP guidelines for food safety.

    Work Environment

     

    The work environment is a cooler GMP setting with temperatures maintained at 26-28 degrees. Employees must adhere to strict safety guidelines: no nail polish, jewelry, piercings, fake nails, or loose items are allowed. Hair must be tied back, and beard nets are required. The company provides jackets and boots. Employees will work around raw and cooked meat and poultry products and receive training on GMP guidelines.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of South Holland, Illinois.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $20.50/hr.
