Job Title: Machine Operator
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Machine Operator skilled in both extrusion and mixing operations. This position involves setting up and using an industrial mixer to create compounds that are transformed into plastic pellets for customers.
Responsibilities
+ Set up and adjust industrial mixers and extrusion machines according to specifications.
+ Utilize 'travelers data forms' to accurately set up machines and produce products, following these forms as recipes for ingredient types and volumes.
+ Select and measure the correct ingredients based on the form to ensure accurate product creation.
+ Maintain cleanliness of machines between production runs to prevent cross-contamination.
+ Ensure a clean and safe work environment at all times.
+ Accurately document tasks and the sequence in which they are performed.
+ Operate forklifts to move materials as needed.
+ Assure quality and conformance of compound size, shape, color, specific gravity, hardness, packaging, labeling, and other key specifications required by the customer.
+ Conduct thorough clean-outs and housekeeping to avoid contamination.
+ Focus on safety, efficiency, productivity, accuracy, and teamwork during the production process.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in machine operating and production, specifically in mixing and extrusion processes.
+ Ability to multitask while paying close attention to detail.
+ Capability to read and follow detailed production instructions.
+ Experience in quality control and inspection processes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Diploma or GED is highly preferred, but candidates with relevant experience may be considered.
+ Steel toe leather boots are required.
+ Ability to lift up to 55 pounds occasionally.
+ Valid driver's license for forklift operation.

Work Environment
Work in a plastics processing and extrusion environment, which has a distinct plastic smell. The role involves working 2nd shift from Monday to Friday, 2:20 PM or 2:40 PM to 10:20 PM or 10:40 PM, and 3rd shift from 10:20 PM or 10:40 PM to 6:20 AM or 6:40 AM from Sunday night through Thursday night, with every other weekend work required. This position requires working in a team-focused environment where safety, efficiency, and quality are the primary concerns.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Denver, Pennsylvania.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
