Assembly Technician

Job Description

As a Manufacturing/Assembly Technician, you will work in a team-oriented environment on the production floor, focusing on assembly, fabrication, or other production areas while ensuring safety, quality, and standard work protocols are followed.

Responsibilities

+ Support work area safety, cleanliness, material usage, and shop organization.

+ Perform production assembly work, rework, troubleshooting, in-process repair, and documentation of assembly improvements.

+ Conduct equipment setup, operation, adjustments, and minor preventative maintenance tasks to meet safety, quality, and efficiency standards.

+ Regularly assemble pipe fittings and perform additional sub-assembly and final-assembly mechanical tasks.

+ Document results during and post-engineering development builds in a clear and concise manner.

Essential Skills

+ 2+ years of experience with heavy mechanical assemblies.

+ Mechanically inclined and proficient with hand and power tools.

+ Ability to interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, models, and work instructions.

+ Basic computer literacy.

+ Experience with 'dirty work' and cleaning residue from parts being replaced.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with hydraulics/hydraulic assembly or pipe fitting is highly preferred.

+ Electrical wiring installation.

+ Experience with operating and troubleshooting manufacturing equipment.

+ Ability to lift 50 pounds and work on platforms above 10 feet.

+ Strong written and verbal communication skills.

+ Excellent attention to detail, good organization, analytical, and reasoning skills.

+ Ability to work with others in a cross-functional team environment and follow both written and verbal instructions.

+ Comfortable with frequent changes of direction, dynamic work environment, and performing time-sensitive analysis under pressure.

Work Environment

This position offers two shift options: 1st shift from 7am-4pm and 2nd shift from 3pm-11:30pm, both with potential overtime including weekends. The work environment includes a climate-controlled and non-climate-controlled manufacturing, fabrication, and assembly facility, with climate-controlled offices and break room. Please note that the facility may be warm during summer months.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Austin, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
