    Job Title: Solar Construction Team Lead

    Job Description

    We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Solar Technician with over 5 years of experience in commercial or utility-scale solar projects for a portfolio in Upstate NY. This role involves working directly with the project manager to manage small crews on active construction sites. Candidates should be willing to travel as required.

    Responsibilities

    + Supervise and lead a team of solar installers on commercial projects.

    + Plan and coordinate daily work activities to ensure project timelines are met.

    + Ensure all installations comply with industry standards, codes, and safety regulations.

    + Conduct site assessments and prepare project plans.

    + Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during installation.

    + Maintain accurate records of project progress and report to project managers.

    + Train and mentor junior installers.

    + Ensure all tools and equipment are maintained and used properly.

    + Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and team members.

    Essential Skills

    + 5+ years experience in electrical or mechanical scope work in solar.

    + Experience as a foreman or crew lead in commercial solar.

    + OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.

    + Ability and willingness to travel.

    + Proficient in troubleshooting, blueprint reading, and crew management.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with equipment pad, panel wiring, wire management, and racking install.

    + NFPA 70E certification preferred.

    + Ability to work in all weather conditions.

    Work Environment

     

    Work is performed outdoors on active construction sites, which can be muddy and wet. Candidates report to the Journeyman Electrician or a site superintendent. Work hours are Monday to Friday, 7:30 am - 5:00 pm, and Saturdays from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm, with overtime as needed. Candidates must be prepared to work in various weather conditions.

    This is a Contract position based out of Aurora, New York.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $65.07 - $65.07/hr.
