Adecco is seeking an experienced Automotive and Trailer Lead Mechanic in Rochester, NY. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Mechanic with strong mechanical skills and leadership ability to oversee and perform high-quality repairs and installations. The Lead Mechanic will be responsible for leading mechanical projects, performing complex repairs, and mentoring junior technicians. This role requires hands-on experience with hitch installations, trailer wiring and lighting, braking systems, axles, tires, and general mechanical repairs. The ideal candidate has strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to lead a team efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Install hitches, wiring for trailer lights, and related electrical components.

+ Inspect, maintain, and repair braking systems, axles, suspension, and tires.

+ Diagnose mechanical issues and perform repairs on trailers, vehicles, and other equipment.

+ Lead and mentor junior mechanics, ensuring work quality, safety, and efficiency.

+ Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and service reports.

+ Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace.

+ Collaborate with management to prioritize repair orders and workflow.

+ Assist in training staff on new techniques, equipment, and safety procedures.

+ Participate in emergency or after-hours repairs as needed.

Qualifications & Experience:

+ Minimum 3–5 years of experience in automotive or trailer mechanical repair.

+ Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with hitch installations, trailer wiring, brakes, axles, and tires.

+ Leadership experience or the ability to mentor and guide other mechanics.

+ Knowledge of safety protocols, shop equipment, and mechanical tools.

+ Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.

+ Valid driver’s license required.

+ Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication.

Physical Requirements:

+ Ability to lift 50lbs and work in physically demanding conditions.

+ Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather.

+ Ability to climb ladders, work under vehicles, and handle repetitive tasks.
