Job Title: Automation Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Automation Technician to join our weekend shift team. This role involves performing service and preventative maintenance work on conveyor systems and troubleshooting various equipment issues within a distribution facility.

Responsibilities

+ Perform service and regular preventative maintenance work on conveyor systems, including fabricating, installing, and repairing conveyor systems while maintaining appropriate records.

+ Test and troubleshoot problems with equipment, conveyors, sortation system, carton erectors, shrink sleeve applicator machines, facility systems such as plumbing and electrical, and other systems associated with the operation of a distribution facility.

+ Repair or replace control devices such as switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, pushbuttons, contactors, and motor starters as needed.

+ Set up and operate welders, drill press, grinder, hand tools, and other metalworking equipment as necessary.

+ Troubleshoot microcontrollers like Omron, Mitsubishi, Keyence, and Siemens PLCs, identifying correct I/O points and matching addressing with machine schematics.

+ Evaluate, detect, and report equipment malfunctions, defective materials, improper operations, and unusual conditions.

Essential Skills

+ Minimum 3 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

+ Proficiency in troubleshooting PLCs.

+ Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

+ Experience in 3PL warehousing, distribution centers, or fulfillment is preferred.

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Access, Excel, and AutoCAD.

+ Working knowledge of safety circuits, relays, interlocks, and E-stop circuits.

+ Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

+ Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Varied industrial or distribution experience is a plus, with key industries including food and beverage, retail and apparel, FMCG, healthcare, and automotive.

+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

+ Experience in a dynamic, fast-paced, metric-driven environment, with an ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.

Work Environment

The work environment is a clean and organized warehouse setting featuring the Knapp automation system. The facility is client-controlled, distributing Disney products, and offers a laid-back atmosphere. The shift is from Saturday to Monday, 4:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Attire is casual, including boots, jeans, and t-shirts. No tools are needed.

This is a Permanent position based out of Newville, Pennsylvania.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $68640.00/yr.
