    Job Title: Crude Assay Laboratory Technician

    Job Description

    Join our dedicated team in the Crude Assay Department where you will conduct various chemical and physical tests. You will be responsible for performing distillations, flashpoint measurements, and density tests on petroleum products. Your role will involve adhering to American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) methods or accepted industry standards.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform chemical and physical tests based on ASTM methods in various test areas.

    + Assist with equipment calibration, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting.

    + Clean glassware and test equipment.

    + Prepare reagents as needed.

    + Record data on appropriate data sheets and report data to the LIMS system.

    + Maintain quality records, control charts, and lab supply inventories.

    + Comply with safety, quality, and housekeeping requirements.

    + Participate in cross-training as needed.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor's Degree in chemistry or a life science with a chemistry minor.

    + 1+ year of lab experience, ideally with ASTM methods.

    + Proficiency in chemistry, quality control, laboratory procedures, and analytical chemistry.

    + Knowledge of quality assurance, wet chemistry, and instrumentation.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Ability to work shift work.

    + Work Environment

     

    This is a rotating shift position. You will be testing various crude oil, refined gases, and refined fuels using ASTM methods. The role requires adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Rose, Louisiana.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr.
