    Job Title: Product Engineer

     

    Actalent is currently seeking qualified applicants for a 6-month contract role (extendable) to support a manufacturing client in the Tualatin, OR area.

    Job Description

    The Technical Product Engineer plays a critical role in supporting new product development and sustaining current products. This role serves as a technical liaison between the Line of Business and the manufacturing plant, applying engineering expertise to optimize manufacturing processes, ensure product compliance, and drive continuous improvement.

    Responsibilities

    + Lead or contribute to the execution of Change Notices within agreed timelines.

    + Analyze the impact of changes on end-to-end manufacturing processes.

    + Propose improvements to the Board of Change.

    + Manage requests related to Adaptation, Quality, Productivity, Obsolescence, and Withdrawal.

    + Collaborate with Design and Continuous Engineering teams on all product changes.

    + Train plant personnel on product and customer application knowledge.

    + Perform product and process analysis, including Technical Returns, FPY, MDR, and Red Box.

    + Lead or support root cause analysis using the 8D methodology.

    + Interface with customers to resolve technical inquiries and enhance delivery experience.

    + Ensure consistency in product definition within the manufacturing database.

    + Contribute to risk assessments, including PFMEA, PQCS, and CQCP.

    + Support part qualification and critical supply robustness.

    + Manage new product introductions and industrial transfers.

    + Work with certification engineers to maintain compliance with UL, CSA, and other standards.

    + Demonstrate leadership in issue resolution and process improvement.

    + Collaborate with Quality Engineers, manufacturing teams, and corporate engineering.

    + Coordinate surveillance testing and review specifications annually with the Line of Business.

    + Manage the eDerogation, and eMCN portfolio, ensuring alignment with Quality Directive guidelines.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.

    + Experience within manufacturing Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent.

    + Experience with 8D problem solving methodology, tool utilization (i.e., 5Why, fishbone (cause and effect), etc.)

    + Six Sigma knowledge certification highly desired.

    + Demonstrated analytical skills with data, problem resolution, and project management.

    This position requires onsite work in Tualatin, OR.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $43.25 - $45.00/hr.
