Scanning Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Scanning Technician to join our team, where you will process and analyze raw point cloud data captured using laser scanning techniques. You will assist in generating topographic surfaces from processed point cloud data and extract valuable information and deliverables from laser scans. This role offers the opportunity to gain experience in Building Information Modeling (BIM) software while collaborating with experienced team members to understand project requirements and provide relevant information for design and planning.

Responsibilities

+ Process and analyze raw point cloud data captured using laser scanning techniques.

+ Assist in generating topographic surfaces from processed point cloud data.

+ Extract information and deliverables from laser scans.

+ Gain experience in BIM software such as Revit or Civil 3D.

+ Collaborate with experienced team members to understand project requirements and provide relevant information for design and planning.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in Revit.

+ Proficiency in Civil 3D.

+ Proficiency in TopoDOT, the person, or Trimble Geomatics Office.

+ Basic understanding of remote sensing equipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Land Surveying, or Geomatics.

+ Strong interest in BIM software such as Revit or Civil 3D with a willingness to learn.

Work Environment

The role involves working with advanced laser scanning technologies and BIM software. The work is collaborative, with team members sharing insights and information to meet project requirements effectively. Dress code and specific work hours are not specified, but a professional and adaptive approach is encouraged.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cromwell, Connecticut.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
