Job Title: Engineering Technician
Job Description
Join a dynamic operations and manufacturing group with two specialized teams: conventional test engineering and manufacturing software engineering. As an Engineering Technician, you will support both teams, dedicating approximately 70% of your time to test engineering. You will play a critical role as a front-line troubleshooter for various software, hardware, and IT errors on production floor test equipment.
Responsibilities
+ Characterize software, hardware components, and optics.
+ Provide general production test support and triage for production line operators.
+ Perform root cause troubleshooting at the functional board and test instrument level.
+ Test the security and compliance of test stands.
+ Ensure network connectivity on test stands.
+ Update documentation and manage tickets for test-related IT issues.
+ Deploy Windows 11 upgrades on test stands and configure them correctly.
Essential Qualifications
+ Troubleshooting and electronics expertise.
+ Recent graduates in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Mechanical Engineering are encouraged to apply. Associates level will be given consideration.
+ 2+ years of technician experience with electro-mechanical systems, specifically focused on testing.
+ Experience in hardware troubleshooting and scripting (Python ideally).
+ Experience in triage and root cause problem-solving for software, hardware, and IT issues.
+ Proficiency in using a computer to handle tickets.
+ Strong communication skills for interfacing with multiple organizational parts.
Other Skills & Qualifications
+ Programming or scripting skills are strongly preferred.
+ Engineering experience that facilitates learning programming or scripting.
+ Experience with LabVIEW and actual IT experience.
+ Ability to self-study and pick up new skills on the job.
Work Environment
The work environment is set on the manufacturing floor, providing a hands-on and dynamic setting. You will have the opportunity to grow into an engineering role.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Beaverton, Oregon.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00/hr.
