Job Title: Systems Engineering Lead
Job Description
The Systems Engineering Lead will be responsible for establishing and executing comprehensive systems engineering processes, implementing tools and training programs, and overseeing systems engineering activities across multiple product development initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring experience in systems engineering and technical leadership within aerospace and defense environments. This role involves applying DfX principles—design for manufacturability, reliability, testability, and cost optimization. The Systems Engineering Lead will report to the Vice President of Product Development.
Responsibilities
+ Establish and execute comprehensive systems engineering processes.
+ Implement tools and training programs to support engineering initiatives.
+ Oversee systems engineering activities across multiple product development initiatives.
+ Apply DfX principles—design for manufacturability, reliability, testability, and cost optimization.
+ Develop and analyze requirements, producing key systems engineering documentation such as specifications, interface control documents, and validation/verification plans.
+ Collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders across government and commercial sectors.
+ Manage engineering projects through the full lifecycle—from requirements definition through verification and delivery.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, computer science, or a related technical field.
+ Over 15 years of experience in the aerospace and defense sector.
+ At least 10 years of hands-on experience in systems engineering, including system architecture, requirements definition, integration, design, analysis, testing, and verification.
+ Strong grasp of engineering principles and the ability to apply them effectively.
+ Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
+ Experience with requirements management tools and Microsoft Office applications.
+ Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.
+ U.S. citizenship required due to government program requirements.
+ Must have or be able to obtain and maintain an active DoD Secret Clearance.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $100.00/hr.
