Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Industrial/Manufacturing Engineer to design and develop new machinery, equipment, and production systems that enhance operational efficiency. The role involves planning and executing modifications to existing equipment, conducting feasibility studies, and creating detailed design drawings and technical documentation using CAD software. You will specify requirements for new equipment, ensure compliance with industry standards, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize designs and manage projects from conception to completion.
Responsibilities:
+ Design and develop new machinery, equipment, and production systems to improve operational efficiency.
+ Plan and execute modifications to existing equipment to enhance functionality, safety, and reliability.
+ Conduct feasibility studies and technical evaluations for new and modified equipment.
+ Create detailed design drawings and technical documentation using CAD software.
+ Specify requirements for new equipment and evaluate their feasibility and compliance with operational needs.
+ Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize designs and ensure successful implementation.
+ Manage projects from conception to completion, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
+ Assess the validity and suitability of commercial equipment and vendor-designed solutions.
+ Troubleshoot and resolve design-related issues during installation and operation.
+ Stay updated with the latest advancements in mechanical design and manufacturing technologies.
Essential Skills:
+ Proficiency in 2D CAD software (AutoCAD) for mechanical design and drafting.
+ Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, material selection, and machine components.
+ Understanding and application of Tolerances and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
+ Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
+ Knowledge of electrical equipment and control systems.
+ Experience with measurement instruments.
+ Fundamental understanding of electrical circuits.
+ Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
+ Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
+ Strong communication and teamwork skills.
+ Prior experience in process/manufacturing/design engineering.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's Degree of Engineering or Designing from a four-year college or university, or equivalent experience.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, CAD, and utilize database.
+ Supervisory experience required.
+ Experience with PLCs, automation, and control systems is a plus.
+ Experience with 3D CAD (Inventor) is a plus.
Work Environment:
+ The work environment includes both office and production facility settings at Virginia Beach, Virginia Main Office.
+ Employees will be required to enter the production facility and warehouse, where safety glasses and safety shoes are mandatory.
+ The noise level in the office is usually moderate, while the production facility has typical machinery noise.
+ The role requires the ability to work in various environmental conditions, such as hot, cold, and noisy.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $105000.00/hr.
