    Job Title: Quality Engineer

    Job Description

    We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to join our team. This role involves ensuring the highest quality standards in our paint shops through meticulous data collection, analysis, and reporting. You will lead action plans, conduct compliance testing, and ensure the integrity of our processes and products.

    Responsibilities

    + Collect, analyze, and report defects recorded in systems.

    + Lead action plan creation and maintenance with cross-functional teams.

    + Conduct adhesion and film build testing compliance.

    + Document and analyze Color and Orange Peel data.

    + Review daily Prime Shop data reports and report on paint conformance.

    + Identify issues with painted parts using Alpha Assembly data.

    + Review and communicate paint defect data to plant personnel.

    + Monitor daily Layered Process Audits.

    + Perform daily FTY reviews and on-floor data verification.

    + Ensure timely completion of all required testing and compliance with requirements.

    + Collect and report top 3 defects and trend charts bi-weekly.

    + Communicate bi-weekly with Synergy about DPU rates and defect origins.

    + Collect and review Certification of Authenticity documentation from paint suppliers.

    + Report to Management weekly on top defects and improvement actions.

    + Lead meetings focused on dirt defects.

    + Review, order, and stock all touch-up paint (Marker and Spray).

    + Maintain documentation related to Prime and Top Coat Paint Shops.

    + Assist in color development for corporate adhesion testing.

    + Support Customer Service Quality Engineers with corrective actions and process changes.

    + Monitor and maintain calibration and service of measuring devices in paint shops.

    Essential Skills

    + Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality engineering.

    + Proficiency in PPAP, APQP, and PFMEA.

    + Experience in direct customer interaction.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Experience with Class A material.

    + Knowledge of prime and top coat paint.

    + Excellent communication and leadership skills.

    + Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.

    + Flexible schedule with the ability to work overtime as needed.

    Work Environment

    The position requires a proactive approach in a dynamic environment, with responsibilities across various areas of the paint shops. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and management, ensuring that quality standards are consistently met. The role may require flexibility in working hours to accommodate operational demands.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Permanent position based out of North Baltimore, Ohio.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $60500.00 - $103500.00/yr.
