Description

We are looking for a skilled Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis near Arlington, Vermont. This role is ideal for someone with strong experience in financial reporting and reconciliation processes. You will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate accounting records and supporting key financial activities, such as month-end close and audits.

Responsibilities:

• Manage month-end close procedures, including preparation and review of financial statements.

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accurate financial reporting.

• Prepare and post journal entries for various accounting transactions.

• Conduct account reconciliations to verify the integrity of financial data.

• Perform bank reconciliations to ensure cash balances align with financial records.

• Support internal audit processes by providing necessary documentation and analysis.

• Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel skills to streamline financial data and reporting.

• Assist in identifying discrepancies and implementing corrective actions to improve accounting operations.

• Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.

• Generate reports and provide insights to support decision-making and strategic planning.

Requirements • Proven experience in month-end close processes and financial reporting.

• Solid knowledge of general ledger and journal entry preparation.

• Proficiency in account and bank reconciliations.

• Strong understanding of internal audit practices and procedures.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and data analysis.

• Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.

• Strong organizational and time management skills to meet tight deadlines.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
