About the role The Test Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing optimum test strategies to support the product development and manufacturing test coverage for electrical or electronic assemblies and finished goods. This individual will be responsible for supporting testing needs for new products during development, and drive test coverage at the manufacturing facility. The position will report to the Business Unit Engineering Department and maintain close relationships with the manufacturing facility test departments. Responsibilities Work closely with Design and Manufacturing Engineering to define and implement new product test plans, procedures and processes in an effort to achieve optimal test coverage in the most efficient manner. Define and implement DFT, DFM, and diagnostic input to the design engineering teams Specifying and assembling required test and equipment and fixturing. Support ongoing production test needs including creating/modifying test software, writing diagnostic routines, and designing and building custom test hardware. Perform debug and troubleshooting of products to understand root cause and add preventive measures to eliminate failures due to the manufacturing process. Develop manufacturing diagnostics to make the debug process more efficient. Prepare accurate and up-to-date reports for review by management. Generate plans for preventative maintenance on new and existing test equipment Qualifications Good understanding of Design FMEA and Process FMEA Good understanding of the 8D process and root cause analysis methodology Deep understanding and proficiency in test methodologies and use of test equipment such as ICT Understanding of IPC standards around PCBA assembly Must have PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly) Process Knowledge Must have hardware design knowledge and debug capability for complex microprocessor based products employing digital circuit technology Must have experience providing test support for products employing Radio Frequency (RF) technology. C, Python or LabView programming experience Familiarity with CAD PCB software such as Altium Sufficient knowledge of Schematic Drawing, CAD data, and BoM structure (Bill of Material) Experience which includes Functional Test Development and/or Product Design is a plus Boundary Scan experience a plus Excellent technical documentation skills Excellent communication skills Excellent organizational skills with a keen focus to detail Bilingual in English and Chinese a plus Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Five to seven years of experience in a production test and new product introduction environment with responsibility for developing and implementing test capability for complex, electronic assemblies using both analog and digital technology A minimum 2 years of experience in ICT testing environment Travel Up to 20% What We Offer Comprehensive benefits include: Medical, dental, and vision insurance programs 401K plans with employer-matching contributions Tuition reimbursement PTO Paid holidays Volunteer time off For more information about benefits, please go to: https://careers.leviton.com/benefits Leviton is an EEO/AA Employer.
