Position Overview:
The SiemensMobility Customer Service business seeks to hire a highly motivated,entrepreneurial, and dedicated Project Manager to lead the technical supportservices for a fleet of our Charger Locomotives and Siemens Diesel MultipleUnits (DMU). The Project Manager leads the maintenance project through theexecution phase and is responsible for fulfilling all requirements from thecustomer contract. The successful candidate will have led projects in the sameor similar industries and can lead a cross-functional team, reporting onlyindirectly to the Project Manager.** **Thisrole can be based in Sacramento or Oceanside, CA.
This role reportsto the Head of Projects, who provides functional supervision and setsachievable targets. The incumbent will have broad autonomy to reach the result.You will be fully responsible for the results of the Service Project (Budget,Schedule, Quality.)
What your day-to-day will look like:
+ **Monitor profit and loss trends and outcomes of assignedproject(s) by proactively leading changes in project scope, identifyingpotential problems, and devising contingency plans.**
+ **Drive the project timeline for service mobilization,project landmarks, material delivery, and acceptance.**
+ **Initiate strategic project activities for engineeringand procurement and actions for service startups.**
+ **Promote a Zero Harm culture through the development,implementation, review, and communication of EH&S Policies andProcedures at the local level.**
+ **Drive modification planning (also comprises therequirements for material and staff for modifications and improvements).**
+ **Prepare and deliver monthly project reports, customerprogress reports, customer change proposals, and presentations tomanagement and internal and external partners.**
+ **Track and optimize the defined critical metrics fromthe service contract throughout the project (reliability, availability,safety, etc.).**
+ **Monitor the delivery of maintenance services and takeappropriate actions to preserve contract performance. Verify thatservice-specific requirements are contained in the contracts withsuppliers.**
+ **Implement the legal or contractual requirements in themaintenance plant and ensure that the requirements for partners andsuppliers are considered in the contracts.**
+ **Release the customer documentation (e.g., maintenancedocumentation, spare part’s catalog, special tools’ documentation.)**
+ **Generate alignments by using standard functions andresources in the project, e.g.: procurement, change and schedulemanagement, contract management, training, etc.**
To thrive in this role, you have:
+ **Bachelor’sdegree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.** **In lieu of Bachelor’s degree, acombination of education and Siemens relevant work experience will beconsidered.**
+ **Significantproven experience in Sales or Project Management with full responsibilityfor project results in cross-organizational projects.**
+ **Workingknowledge of maintenance management and familiarity with the locomotiveindustry, equipment, technology, and regulatory obligations.**
+ **PMPCertification or other project management methodology and terminology body ofknowledge.**
+ **Settingyou apart from others would be a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 5+ yearsof PM experience within the rail industry with PMP certification.**
