    **Building Automation Design Engineers**  create unique design solutions to meet specific customer requirements for commercial building automation systems in new and existing facilities. Building Automation Design Engineers also make recommendations for productivity improvements and cost reductions to increase customer satisfaction and job profitability.

     

    We are looking for National Operation Center (NOC): Building Automation Design Engineering Interns. This position will be based at our Irving, TX location.

     

    Internship Program Start Dates: May 18, June 8 and June 15.

    Responsibilities working alongside current Engineering Supervisors and Subject Matter Experts (SME’s):

    + Understand project requirements and design building automation solutions for higher education and K–12 education facilities, data centers, hospitals, pharmaceutical facilities, high-rise buildings, and lab facilities

    + Prepare design documents, including mechanical system layouts, electrical drawings, bills of materials, sequences of operations, valve and damper schedules, and DDC panel layouts. As well as formatting and compiling submittals to Siemens L5 standard unless established customer standard exists.

    + Design building automation network architecture to support operator workstations.

    + Analyze plans, construction contract specifications, and codes to determine project requirements and risks.

    + Design building and space pressurization solutions, chiller and boiler plant sequencing control, etc.

    + Prepare engineering re-estimates and follow up with appropriate sales and management to ensure understanding of and satisfaction with job scope.

    What you will do as a National Operations Center (NOC): Building Automation Design Engineering Intern:

    + This internship is a 10-12 week program where you will rotate through various departments at the local NOC office, all focusing on smart buildings and sustainable infrastructure.

    + 80% of your time will be spent as a Design Engineer understanding the overall aspects of the role and related activities.

    + 20% of your time with be spent with the Estimating team to understand the relevance and needs of interactions between the two departments.

    + The goal of this internship program is to develop future talent for the Siemens organization and help you identify where you may be interested in pursuing a career at Siemens post-graduation.

    To apply for the Engineering Internship Program, candidates must meet the following requirements:

    + Must have a high school diploma or state-recognized GED

    + Education: Student must be currently enrolled at an accredited U.S. college or university 4-year pursuing an Engineering-related degree such as Electrical/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering, Construction Management, Computer – Aided Design and Drafting or related field of study

    + Graduation Dates: December 2026 - August 2028

    + Availability: Ability to work 40-hours per week for the 10-12 week program (May-July or June - August)

    + Qualified candidates must be able to work in a hybrid (combination of on-site/remote) work environment in the Greater Dallas/Ft. Worth Metro area

    + Relocation: Must be willing and able to work at the location on-site and surrounding local area. There is no relocation or housing stipend for this program

    + Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company or school sponsorship. This program does not support students on a Visa such as F1, J1, M1 and H1B as well as OPT/CPT.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + 1+ years of experience or technical education in designing building automation (HVAC/lighting) projects with standard tools, products, and practices

    + 1+ years of experience or technical education utilizing AutoCAD
