Job Responsibilities:

+ **Scheduling procedures:** Coordinate and schedule surgical procedures based on physician availability, patient needs, and facility capacity.

+ **Patient communication:** Provide detailed pre-operative instructions to patients, address concerns, and answer questions about the surgical process.

+ **Insurance verification:** Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for surgical procedures. \

+ **Medical record management:** Collect and maintain accurate patient medical records, including pre-operative testing results and relevant documentation.

+ **Equipment and supply management:** Ensure availability of required surgical equipment and supplies for scheduled procedures.

+ **Liaison with medical team:** Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, management and other healthcare professionals to coordinate surgical schedules and patient care. - **Post-operative follow-up:** Coordinate post-operative appointments and provide patients with necessary instructions for recovery.

Required skills for a surgical coordinator:

**Strong organizational skills:** Ability to manage complex schedules and prioritize tasks effectively.

**Excellent communication skills:** Clear and concise communication with patients, families, and medical staff is crucial.

**Attention to detail:** Accurate data entry and meticulous record keeping are essential.

**Medical knowledge:** Understanding of medical terminology, surgical procedures, and patient care protocols.

**Ability to work under pressure:** Manage a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities

The salary range for this position is $36,980-$55,690/year
