Summary This position is with Child and Youth Services at the Redstone Arsenal. Morale Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Child and Youth Services (CYS) Employee Childcare Fee: Available to MWR CYS Regular and FLEX (working a minimum of 15 hours) First Child: 100% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees) Second and Subsequent Child: At least 25% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees) Responsibilities Develops and follows efficient, consistent and safe bus routes for routine trips (e.g., to and from school) to minimize transportation time. Ensures the safety and well-being of children, youth and adults being transported to and from the program and on field trips. Practices bus evacuation following prescribed procedures with children and youth on a monthly basis. Arranges for and ensures completion of routine maintenance of bus (e.g., oil change) transporting the bus to and from maintenance facilities. Completes a comprehensive written inspection of the bus daily, reporting any concerns to the supervisor before transporting children/youth. A qualified candidate must possess the following: High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma. Ability to communicate in English at a level to assure the duties described can be accomplished in a safe and satisfactory manner. Experience in accomplishing the types of duties described in this job. Requires a valid state driver's license to operate a 15 passenger vehicle. Allowances and Differentials This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week - whichever gives the employee more benefit. Regular full-time, regular part-time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. Other: This position is a FLEX position and is not eligible for benefits. This announcement may be used to fill additional vacancies throughout the program.
