*The University of Maryland School of Medicine (UMSOM) - Psychiatry has an exciting opportunity for an Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Training Specialist or Senior Specialist.*The ACT Training Specialist will work at the University of Maryland, Baltimore’s School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry, in the Behavioral Health Systems Improvement Collaborative (BHSIC) - Evidence-Based Practice Center, located in Catonsville, MD. This position, in collaboration with the Behavioral Health Administration (BHA) of the Maryland Department of Health (MDH), plans and delivers training on the evidence-based practices (EBPs) of Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) for behavioral health providers throughout the state working with individuals with behavioral health disorders./*The selected candidate's title will be determined based on their education and experience.*/ /*This position will require some travel within the state.*/ *_Benefits Information_* UMB offers acomprehensive benefits packagethat prioritizes wellness, work/life balance, and professional development, along withadditional exciting perksthat employees can take advantage of. All employees are expected to work primarily physically within the State of Maryland.* *_Primary Duties:_* /*Specialist*/ * Assesses the training needs of providers offering ACT throughout the state. Develops evaluation plans, evaluates individual training modules, prepares written reports of findings, and devises quality improvement plans. * Develops and prepares general training materials such as manuals, online learning modules, self-test instruments, and course materials to meet behavioral health provider needs. Revise and modify training materials as needed. * Delivers in-person and online training. * Collaborates with other Evidence-Based Practice Center Training Specialists to develop and provide trainings related to ACT throughout the state. * Monitors and evaluates effectiveness of training through evaluation measures. Partners with stakeholders and/or experts to provide and/or analyze training data. * Maintains effective mechanisms for ongoing relationships/partnerships with all relevant stakeholders, including those from BHA and MDH, the behavioral health provider community, and the University of Maryland. * Performs other related duties as assigned. /*Senior Specialist*/ * Responsible for leading the development and execution of training programs using generally accepted methods appropriate to the training field. Identifies future training needs and strategies to develop training through implementation and evaluation. * Leads the development of curricula based on implementation science and adult learning principles. * Leads the development and design of training aids such as handouts/workbooks, PowerPoint presentations, online training, and evaluation/self-test using adult learning principles. Responsible for continuously evaluating effectiveness of training materials and revising as needed. * Compiles, analyzes, and interprets training data. Assists and plans complex needs assessments to ensure curricula is aligned with department and organization needs. Present and facilitate training programs which apply adult learning concepts, effectively engage participants of varying learning needs and foster learning and implementation of best practice in the field. * Establishes relationships/partnerships and collaborates with external and internal stakeholders to assess and develop long-term implementation and training plans to ensure needs are effectively met. * Develops, recommends, modifies and implements policies and procedures and/or methods of technical assistance to meet changing needs and requirements and enforces standards. * Provides input on the acquisition and implementation of services offered by outside vendors for use in effective training. * Performs day-to-day operational duties such as: monitoring training costs; training and guiding interns and/or other less experienced training staff; develops policies, procedures, and/or methods for implementation of training; participating in field visits, and responding to requests and questions from internal and external stakeholders. * Performs other duties as assigned. *_Specialist_* *Education:*Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Public/Business Administration, Communications, Mental Health, Counseling, Substance Use Disorders, or related field to program. Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counselor, or Public Health preferred. *Experience:*Two (2) years of providing behavioral health services training or other related training experience. *Preferred Experience:*Experience working on an ACT team or similar evidence-based team such as Coordinated Specialty Care for people with serious mental illnesses preferred. *Other:*Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 undergraduate college credits being equivalent to one year of related experience. In instances where specific education and/or experience is required only directly related education and/or experience may be substituted. *_Senior Specialist_* *Education:*Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Public/Business Administration, Communications, Mental Health, Counseling, Substance Use Disorders, or related field to program. Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counselor, or Public Health preferred. *Experience:*Four (4) years of related training experience of which three (3) years must be in providing behavioral health services training. *Preferred Experience:*Experience working on an ACT team or similar evidence-based team such as Coordinated Specialty Care for people with serious mental illnesses preferred. *Other:*Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 undergraduate college credits being equivalent to one year of related experience.
