Patient Service Specialist

Position Type: Contract (covering maternity leave, with potential for permanent placement)

Schedule:

+ Monday: 8am – 5pm (Lunch: 1pm–2pm)

+ Tuesday: 8am – 7pm (Lunch: 1pm–2pm)

+ Wednesday: 8am – 2pm (No lunch)

+ Thursday: 8am – 7pm (Lunch: 1pm–2pm)

+ Friday: 8am – 2pm (No lunch)

+ No weekends!

Work Environment:

+ Onsite, 5 days per week

+ Work alongside another Patient Service Specialist

+ Supportive, team-oriented environment

Top Skills & Qualifications

+ Prior customer service experience and professional work experience (retail, hospitality, healthcare, or recent college graduates with a 4-year degree welcome)

+ Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, especially for handling conversations with patients who may be upset

+ Ability to navigate desktop computers, use Microsoft Office software, and operate a traditional office phone

+ Professional demeanor and ability to communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and external partners

Job Responsibilities

+ Greet and register patients, providing information about their visit and next steps at check-out

+ Schedule patient appointments in person and over the phone

+ Communicate regularly with attorney offices, insurance companies, translation companies, market operational leaders, and the business development team

+ Collect co-pays, manage payer approvals, and conduct insurance authorizations and verifications

+ Prepare patient intake forms prior to appointments to ensure timely service

+ Verify insurance eligibility and obtain authorizations as needed

+ Counsel patients regarding their financial responsibility at the time of service

+ Achieve quality assurance goals and adhere to established payment controls

+ Effectively communicate with all contacts to resolve issues and solve problems

+ Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
