Job Summary:
Center for Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Diving (CEODD) requires Combat Skills (CS) Instructors to administer high-risk training (HRT) CS Course of Instruction (COI) designed to educate, train and qualify newly graduated United States Navy (USN) Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) with combat shooting proficiency and survivability from basic to the journeyman skill level. The Site Lead/CS instructor is a member of a training team of Subject Matter Experts (SME) experienced in small unit tactics, combat shooting techniques, helicopter rope suspension techniques (HRST) and helicopter cast techniques (CAST) tactical vehicle operation, communications, and tactical combat casualty care (TCCC). CS Instructors will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of all training outlined in the Course Master Schedule (CMS).
Duties and Responsibilities:
+ CS Instructor will administer the CS COI eight times a year for up to twenty students in each class.
+ Meet and maintain eligibility for HRT instructors. Complete HRT Screening Protocols (Medical, Drug, Psychological, Interview Screening).
+ Complete curriculum familiarization and administrative preparations and qualifications.
+ Complete HRT instructor qualifications and instructor evaluation and certification process.
+ Complete special qualifications Job Qualification Requirements as assigned (CS qualifications, High Risk Training Safety Officer (HRTSO), Range Safety Officer, HRST/CAST, Expeditionary Small Arms Marksmanship Instructor (ESAMI), Crew-Served Weapons Instructor, Combat Life Saver).
+ Perform basic to advanced levels of classroom, laboratory, and practical instruction in accordance with approved curricula, including nighttime exercises.
+ Responsible for and familiar with presentation, delivery method, testing and remediation procedures, curriculum, training aids, devices, electronic podiums, and equipment operation and maintenance procedures associated with the course or section of the course they will instruct.
+ Develop and maintain an instructor training binder with approved personalized course materials.
+ Perform and observe the safe operations of, but not limited to, the EOD authorized weapons systems, tactical vehicles, and authorized technical training equipment, including laser systems and synthetic weapons trainers.
+ Perform course preparations to include, but not limited to, preparation of classroom, weapons loading, weapons mounting, target placement, computer set up practical area set up, and vehicle staging.
+ Perform operator level weapons cleaning, maintenance, and repairs of all authorized weapons systems and ranges.
+ Perform operational upkeep of all ranges.
+ Obtain course specific qualifications and certification in accordance with approved guidance.
+ Perform general facility cleanup to include but not limited to, trash removal, sweeping, swabbing, kitchen, appliances, lounge, bathroom, Tactical Operation Center areas, and ranges.
Qualifications:
+ Graduate of Navy Instructor Training Course Navy Enlisted Classification 805A (formerly 9502) or equivalent i.e. Completion of Instructor Training Course from another Department of Defense (DOD) service, a civilian (or commercial) formal course of instruction (academic credentialing).
+ One year of instructional experience in lieu of designation (Defense Department (DD)-214, course certificates, etc.).
+ Minimum of three years of experience in Armed forces special operations (e.g., United States Marine Corps (USMC) Recon/Raider, USA Ranger/Green Beret, USN Sea Air Land (SEAL), United States Air Force (USAF), Combat Controller, UK or Australian Skilled-Australian Sponsored (SAS) or USN EOD with shooting instructor experience.
+ Graduate of Blackwater, Mid-South Shooting Institute, Gryphon, Special Forces Advanced Urban Combat (SFAUC), or equivalent small arms weapons training school will be considered.
+ Must meet Navy HRT requirements as outlined in OPNAVINST 1500.75 series.
+ Experienced Weapons Instructor.
+ Experienced HRST/CAST Master
+ Proof of completion of training on required weapons systems within last 5 years. Current certifications (within last three years) using M9/M11 Pistol and M4/M16 (variance) weapons systems.
+ ESAMI/Crew Served Weapons Instructor.
+ Additional subject matter expertise required for some positions: HRTSO qualification, logistics experience, NETC HRT experience, TCCC instructor experience, and combat life saver experience.
+ Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (required)
+ Automated External Defibrillator certifications (desired)
+ Current DoD Secret Security Clearance.
